Wherever you need to travel in the Burlington area, Cambrian Rise has you covered! Getting here, there, and everywhere is easy and convenient with all of the transportation options available to Cambrian Rise residents.
1. Your Own Car
Finding off-street parking in a city can be a daunting task. Fortunately, Cambrian Rise has plenty of parking options for residents and their guests. At the moment, visitors to Liberty House, the first completed building in the community, have access to an off-street parking lot right next to the building. Eventually, we’ll be including below grade parking garages as part of our new construction buildings.
2. CarShare Vermont
Everyone needs a car sometimes to enjoy the convenience of driving, especially in Vermont. But if you don’t own one, getting access to a car can be difficult.
Here’s an overview if you’re not familiar with the CarShare Vermont program: CarShare gives its members 24/7 access to a neighborhood-based fleet of vehicles. Just reserve your vehicle, get in, and go. It’s that easy! Everything from gas to insurance to roadside assistance is included with a CarShare membership, making it the perfect easy and affordable alternative to owning your own car.
Beyond the convenient CarShare Vermont vehicles located around the Burlington area, Cambrian Rise has also partnered with the organization to reduce the impact of cars on the road. A beautiful orange CarShare Prius named “Rufus” is parked right in our Liberty House parking lot, and each of our residents receives a complimentary one-year CarShare membership. This provides our residents the opportunity and convenience to reduce the number of vehicles they need, or even to go car-free!
3. Bike
Burlington, Vermont is the smallest largest city in the U.S. Yep, you read that right! While it may have the most people of any city in Vermont, Burlington is the smallest of all the “most populous” cities in the country. Luckily, the small size helps to make our city bikeable!
With Cambrian Rise’s fantastic location right between the Burlington bike path and the bike lanes of North Avenue, it is our goal to promote biking as a key way for our residents to travel the Burlington area. We provide residents with a free, on-site indoor bike storage room as well as a repair space where bikes can be tuned, fixed and washed.
4. Bus
Sit back, relax, and let someone else do the driving when you take the bus! A robust public transportation system is great for Burlington since it reduces construction, cuts down on pollution, and makes our city more easily accessible for everyone.
Through our partnership with Green Mountain Transit (GMT), we offer Cambrian Rise residents discounted bus passes. Cambrian Rise is located on GMT’s most frequent local bus route, #7 North Ave. With 15 minute lead times during rush hours, this route offers direct service to the Ethan Allen Shopping Center, which houses a major supermarket, restaurants and services as well as downtown Burlington’s transit center/hub, which is the connector for all city and regional routes.
5. Walk
Let’s not forget about the most convenient transportation method of all—your own two feet! The Cambrian Rise community is located right beside the Burlington recreation path, offering a pedestrian-friendly route to the downtown waterfront area. Plus, there are so many Old and New North End shops and restaurants within walking distance of Cambrian Rise, and the Church Street Marketplace only one mile away with sidewalks to take you safely where you want to go.
